Camps de Luca buttons

In Paris this week, seeing a few lovely people at Cifonelli, Camps de Luca, Caron and Mes Chaussettes. Again with the Cs.

The Camps de Luca suit needs one more fitting, while the Cifonelli overcoat is almost ready, even if it’s not cold enough to wear it yet. The latter has been a year in the making so particularly excited about it. I’d like to say the waiting makes it sweeter, but I’d be lying.

Pictured, button selection at Camps de Luca. Three shades of grey horn, plus brown/grey, blue horn, green horn, polished and matte, then there’s corozo and wood. Love the French attention to finishing.

Enjoy Paris Simon.

Quick question – Does Cifonelli produce shirts in-house, or do they send shirt orders to another French maker?

Frank

Hello Simon. I have a DB suit in a 38R and a number of people have told me the jacket is too long. How long should a suit jacket be in order to look as good as possible?

Tom

Hi Simon,

I’ve dropped you and email, but I’m guessing it’s gone straight to spam. Are these horn buttons available to buy directly? I need a bunch for a suit and I’m struggling to find anything in the UK.

Regards,
Tom

Cheers Simon, I have tried BQ, but they are out of stock and don’t know when they might get some more. Don’t know of any other London stores which have hand made horn buttons.

You may also try Bernstein and Banley, they are the leading providers of trimmings to tailors and also sell online. Selection is decent, though they may not have three colours in grey!

Tom

Thank you kindly Simon / Omar, I’ve had a look at B&B and they do carry a pretty good range in normal prices. There’s no rush so I’ll wait for Simon’s list and the decide.

Tom

Tom

Massive thanks Simon, will check them out next weekend.
