Autumn/Winter 2024 on the PS Shop
Hello lovely readers,
Here’s our regular update on what’s coming into the PS Shop over the next few months.
We’ve included the information we have, but feel free to ask questions if you have them, as chances are someone else is thinking the same, and it’s good to have them all here, rather than emailed individually.
As per usual, keep in mind that some timings might change, but we’re trying to be a little bit more conservative to avoid overruns. There may also be one or two new launches which have yet to be confirmed and will drop into this season.
Remember that a lot of shop updates are now done through the dedicated emails rather than PS articles. The PS cloth didn’t ever get a full article, for example, even though it involved some changes with distribution and location. Sign up to that list here if you want to keep in touch on everything. We try to limit the amount of emails we are sending and combine restock announcements.
Thanks, can’t wait to get these wonderful coats and knits out there.

Hi Simon, for the new oxford colors will you be selling also the cloth or just the RTW shirts? Thanks!
Cloth as well – sorry, good question
Hello Simon,
Is there not going to be a new color for the English Tweed Coat?
Also, is the new coat (outerwear?) project the only brand new product scheduled to release this fall/winter?
No, no new colour for the English Tweed. And yes, that’s the only brand new product – everything we have coming is listed here
Will price stay at £917 plus VAT?
No, prices have already been put up I’m afraid. The costs are just rising, from the fabric all the way through, and we have to reflect that in the end price
Hey Simon – like the updated bridge coat pictures. What shoes are you wearing with them?
Black boots from Edward Green – shanklin MTO, in delapre leather
Thank you. I think in a previous article you compared these to more casual boots from Anglo Italian. Do you still like/use the AI boots?
I don’t, no. Like the rest of the Anglo shoe range, I really like and admire what they have done, but they’re not my style I think. I always prefer something a little slimmer in each category
Thank you Simon. I hope I’m not being a pain with all the questions. The thrust of your other article was that the AI boots worked well as a casual alternative to sneakers, and so you had paired them with chinos and a hoodie. Would the Edward Green boots or those with a slim profile would be too smart for that?
True. I found I didn’t actually wear them in that way too much – I’d either go for EGs or something more casual like Alden
Thanks for the update! You say the reversible suede bomber will be restocked in navy – does that mean there will be no restock of the brown? Also, the Dartmoor sweater seems to have disappeared from the shop page – hopefully this is just a bug, and no indication it has been discontinued?
There won’t be a restock of the brown, no, though all sizes are currently available except medium I think
Oh, and on the Dartmoor – no it’s not discontinued, we just had an issue with the pressing so they’ve gone back to Italy to be repressed and will be coming back next month
Noted, thanks!
Any plans for selling the Japanese Denim cloth as well?
No – the shirt is industrially garment-washed, so the cloth itself would be very different and a shirt made out of it would not be the same
Hi Simon,
Exciting news, though I’m not looking forward to the end of summer just yet.
Can you tell me what denim shirt you’re wearing with the bridge coat?
Cheers
Sure – the Brycelands sawtooth westerner
Simon, how many of these Westerners do you have? The only drawback is they are very slim through the abdomen.
I have two, the second bought second hand fortunately. This one is a 42
Nice!
Fortunately (for my wallet and wardrobe space) I already have most covered.
But I am thinking about a formal overcoat. I own two that unfortunately isnt perfect. One navy DB where the cloth is a bit too light in weight and one Loro Piana Martingala topcoat (bought on sale, Im not a billionaire) that is too short and I dislike the collar.
I own the raglan overcoat in cream-black (light grey). Its good most of the time but maybe not for the most formal occasions. Do you think that the ”new navy” raglan is as formal as you need for business formal?
And at the same time. Is the new undescribed outerwear a formal overcoat that can be what I am looking for?
Yes I think the navy could work well for you there Carl, particularly given you know how the existing one functions.
No, the new one wouldn’t be an option there
Thanks. Do you have an opinion about the style of the Loro Piana Martingala. https://se.loropiana.com/en/p/man/coats-and-trench/martingala-coat-FAN1955?colorCode=W000&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw5qC2BhB8EiwAvqa41vXYrIrMh6kQmyZS_XSh-5tOdiRfWke3_eCqlDOqXypq12SSEZT_ThoCYAcQAvD_BwE
It’s one of those in-between pieces you often get in RTW. It feels like the length lets it down, as you say, and the martingala would be better on a fuller overcoat for me, rather than something so unstructured and car-coat length
Have you thought about offering a formal navy DB like your B&Tailor coat reviewed in March? Manish suggested a few RTW options last December but some are not available now, e.g. New & Lingwood and Anglo Italian.
Generally I haven’t Kent, because I’d want that to be made as a piece of tailoring – so in a more handmade manner than the other coats we offer. That was the reason we developed the polo coat with the Anthology, because they could offer that. I believe they still do navy as an MTO
Simon, would I be able to try a wax walker for size at the London pop up?
Yes, all coats will be available to try at the London pop-up, and they will also be in William Crabtree to try for the whole of October
Hi Simon, A useful update, it a good idea to do them.
Is the first picture the Bridge coat?
Perhaps you will consider making something similar in full length. Along the lines of your collaboration with the Anthology?
That looks a superb coat, I’m just a bit cautious about ordering something that needs to travel around the world. Drakes did something similar a while back (not this version, this season) , but did quite get the details right.
On the Navy PS raglan, Just for readers info. I have something in a not dissimilar style in a covert cloth from Caruso for Trunk (about 5 years ago), which I have found extremely versatile and especially in an urban environment, as you described, so I would expect and hope yours will be popular.
All the best.
Thanks Carl, that’s useful on the raglan you have.
We have looked at a full length of the Bridge Coat but it didn’t feel like the lapels would be as good at that size
Plus one for the interest in a more full length overcoat in a similar design language to bridge coat or your Sexton greatcoat.
no yellow oxford at all?
Not soon, but we’ve ordered the cloth so hopefully towards the end of the year
Hey Simon,
The Dartmoor seems to have been removed from the website. Will it be restocked? Is it sold out?
See comment above Vidit
Hi Simon, thanks for the update. Are there any plans to restock the Dark Brown Donegal coat this year? Thanks!
No. The cloth is available, but there are no plans to bring back any old donegals.
Really excited about the new navy colorway. A bit afraid of the black mentioned, but based on the picture, that’s really just noticable up close, adding to the darkening effect?
Also happy to see it’s a smoother merino, sounds like exactly what I’ve been after.
Yes exactly.
Hey Simon
Got a brown donegal. Had my eye on the English tweed for a while and am considering potentially either getting it for this winter.
However, the elusive new mention… is this something that I will regret not going for the English tweed? Or does it fill a very different space in a wardrobe?
A different space I’d say
Hi Simon. What colours will be on offer for the suede overshirts? Will it be possible to order remotely?
Hey,
That isn’t confirmed yet, but yes it will
Simon,
In terms of the weight and the handle of the cloth, how does your Bridge coat compare with the pea coats from Real McCoy and even Buzz Rickson.
Does anyone have experience if not you?
I know them, and they are much heavier and much tougher. The Bridge Coat is designed to be a luxury version, so it still holds it’s shape well, but it’s soft with cashmere in the mix
Hello Simon,
Are the two new PS Oxford colors distinct from any of the previous ones you’ve offered? And do you anticipate restocking other Oxford colors, such as yellow or pink, this autumn or winter?
Also are you expecting the Wax Walker restock early or later in September?
Thank you!
They are distinct from those, yes. We have ordered cloth in the yellow and pink, so hope to bring them back maybe at the very end of the year.
Probably end of September
Will the yellow and pink RTW shirts also be restocked alongside the cloth?
That’s answered above in the comments Pavel
This is good news to me Simon! I’m looking forward to their return.
Hi Simon,
Would it be possible to get the make and model of the denim western shirt you’re wearing under the Bridge Coat in the last photo?
Hey J – that’s answered above in the comments, it’s a Brycelands sawtooth
Thanks for this update Simon.
Very excited about the new navy Donegal. Exactly what I’m looking for. I love the the flecked version but I need to be able to wear the coat into the office with a suit and tie.
I was also hopping the Ps motor trench would be restocked but I assume it is being discontinued for the time being. The rider’s raincoat looks amazing though and I am fan of more simple styles. I just liked the idea of the removable liner which enabled to wear the coat all year long (but at the same time made unaffordable to many). And also a big fan of Ventile.
Can’t wait!
Cheers Romain, lovely to hear. The navy would be bang on for you then.
No return of the motor trench I’m afraid
Lovely range Simon, have you ever thought about re-creating something like this vintage suede popover from Hermès?
https://www.permanentstyle.com/2022/10/wear-loafers-with-jeans.html
I hadn’t actually, largely because we already do the reversible suede jacket – also not sure how popular the colour would be! Were you thinking the same colour, or something more classic?
Colour could something similar but a bit more subdued, closer to a deep khaki, the yellow tinge really works nicely over faded denim and other trousers. I like that style because it feels a bit more casual than the suede jacket and it looks like something you can just throw on.
A colour similar to the suede overshirt would look great!
Congratulations Simon on such a comprehensive list of product line up for launches in the next few months.
I meant to ask – you had a full sleeve polo also – don’t know what it is called – which I don’t see any more on your site. Or am I mistaken? If I am not, do you plan to bring it back?
Thx
AKG
That’s actually answered in the comments above, AKG. I think you’re talking about the Dartmoor, and the stock has just been sent back for a tweak to the finishing, and then it will be back on the shop
Hey Simon,
always look forward to this time of year and the shop update.
The new Raglan. I’ve watched the years go by and many iterations pass, I actually bought the grey however sold that (at nearly retail price, reflects how popular it is!) simply because it was just a little light in colour for me. Last years navy, I thought it was ‘the one’ but again, the slight colour speckles in the weave weren’t really for me, beautiful as it was.
HOWEVER! This years navy that both yourself and PWVC have now showed us a glimpse of, man, this is just perfection for me. It’s alot of money in my world Simon, so I ask as you’re the one that designed it and have no doubt tried with many outfits – does it work just as well with a flannel suit as it would with say a nice pair of denim/chinos and a pair of Vibergs?
Thanks man,
CK
It’s really good CK, and very versatile. However, I’m not sure any coat goes with everything from a suit to work boots like Vibergs, for me. It would be good for everything short of the work boots i think
Thanks Simon, admit I’m stretching it a little far on that one. If we change the Viberg to say, an Alden Indy or cap toe in Color 8, with denim/chinos – does that sound closer to the mark?
Yes certainly
Simon
Off topic post, but I struggled to work out where to post.
An excellent article in the FT titled How I made my own ‘Chanel’ jackets. Behind a paywall. https://www.ft.com/content/03761498-f70e-4b64-b970-e15a1202166a
Regards
Nice, thank you Misbah
Hey Simon,
For a winter Navy coat – would you say the Bridge Coat or the upcoming Navy Herringbone raglan would work better for casual combinations with jeans and knitwear?
Probably the bridge coat
Hi Simon, what is the weight of the PS plaid cloth in the new lambswool version? Thank you.
Same as the cashmere was – 350g
Simon, the Donegal coat is just the style I’m looking for, however I️ almost always wear brown shoes with casual clothes like an OCBD, shetland sweater in many colors and jeans/chinos. Do you like the light gray/black-and-creme herringbone cloth with brown shoes and outfits that go with them? Thanks!
Yes, that would work well, I wear it myself that way
Hello Simon – in regard to the new navy/black Donegal Coat being released in October, would that work for smart occasions such as with a suit, as well as bridge smart/casual occasions of course? Thanks!
Yes, absolutely, that was the idea of it
Heya Simon, question regarding the raglan coats. Yours is a fair bit slimmer than a lot of others in the market. Based on your preferences lately for a more comfortable fit, would you ever size up to a large?
I might, yes. I wouldn’t ever change the body fit, but if people are uncertain between sizes I usually advise them to go up
David, this is a good point you raise. Simon, might we expect you to be wearing a large in the article shots?
I had the grey in a medium, it was nice. However, looking at the dimensions of the large, I think it might try a large for the navy. A little more volume and drape in the chest would be nice, might just need the sleeves and length altered a touch.
No, I wear a medium in all the shots and will do for the navy as well
Any chance the black Indulgent Shawl Cardigan will return? I was always fond of that one.
No, sorry. The restock is the grey and the navy
Simon – Have you considered offering the Dartmoor or Finest Crew Neck in other colors beyond the colder navy, charcoal and grey? I’m picturing greens, browns, tans, etc. Also not sure if there are plans to offer the charcoal Dartmoor this season after the factory snafu? Thanks
We have offered them in dark olive in the past, that might be nice to do again. But no, no plans beyond that. Good to have the vote though!
The Dartmoors that come back will be the same, no new stock so no new colours there
For what it’s worth, the dark olive is my most worn Dartmoor. The grey is nice, but I wear grey trousers often, which limit its usefulness. The navy is a bit too rich beneath a jacket, which is how I prefer wearing the Dartmoor. The cream would be my favorite except I wear them over undershirts, and the cream is see-through enough that the undershirt is visible beneath it. But the olive is perfect–works with navy, dark brown, and beige jackets as well as grey trousers, beige chinos, or indigo or black jeans.
Thanks. Interestingly, it wasn’t that popular when it was launched, but maybe it’s the kind of thing people need to hear from me and others about in terms of uses/versatility
I love it. Still feels classic but just different enough to be interesting. Very PS in that way
Nicely put, thank you
I second MBB355, one of my favourite ps items and definitely the most worn. Great with pretty much every pair of trousers I own and especially worn more casually in summer with white/cream cords/jeans.
Nice to hear Richard
hi simon
in your post on Friday 26th July here you mentioned a restock of the tapered t-shirt on the Monday. Did I miss it? And it’s not mentioned in this article, so I guess I probably did miss the restock?
malcolm
You did, sorry Malcolm. You should have received an email of you were on the waiting list or the general shop emails?
Any idea on another restock?
We’ve already re-ordered but last time it was meant to take four months and ended up taking six. Unfortunately Japan is just rammed for high-quality production – it’s the same with so many things
Is there any chance of Private White VC participating in the London pop-up? It would give visitors a valuable opportunity to try on some pieces with PS coats and jackets, especially those in thre collaboration range. It would also be useful to know if any other brands will be participating too.
Hi Kent,
Unfortunately no other brands will be participating, just us. We’ve found it much harder in recent years to find big spaces that can accommodate more than one.
However, collaboration products between us and PWVC will always be available to try on in our pop-ups – and indeed will be in William Crabtree for a whole month – as these are our products, as in things we sell and stock.
Hi Simon, any plans to restock the pink stripe Oxford cloth along with the two new Oxford cloths in November? I just tried to order and it is now sold out.
Thanks!
We have all of them on order actually, but not quite sure when we might have them available, hence we didn’t include them here. Hopefully by the end of the year though
Hi Simon, I know it’s the wrong time of year back home and I had thought I had registered for the waitlist emails but may not have. The PS shorts, is there any plans for us to see them available again in the near future and if not, is there a brand & model you’d advise that would be as similar as possible please? It’s coming into summer in Australia and hoping to get a few pairs. Thanks
We won’t have anything until next year I’m afraid, and I don’t really know others that similar, sorry
No wonder that the PS shorts have sold out. For me they really hit the target (not too long, not too shorts, can be dressed up or down, quality excellent – I am a big Rota fan).
I have the beige and green and looking forward to buying the navy ones next year.
Lovely to hear, thanks Markus
Hi Simon
Given the weather in London this morning I expect you will be getting a lot of interest in the rider’s raincoat (which I can see is already available on the Drake’s website in its original colour). Are you able to share what the new colour will be?
Cheers
I can’t yet Tom, no sorry
Hi Simon,
Really excited to see the new dark navy Donegal, and to hear more about the new outerwear piece! Also, since it’s my first time to comment on your site (despite a few years of reading!) I ought to say thank you for all the invaluable content over the years. You should take a lot of pride in the virtual community you have grown here – the comments and discussions are a little online oasis of genuine curiosity, civil exchange, and respectful disagreement. Bravo for setting and maintaining the perfect tone. You (and of course the many erudite regular contributors) do us all a great and valuable service!
I have some questions about the Rider’s Raincoat, and coats in general, which I will post under the relevant article.
Thank you so much. That’s really lovely to hear, and looking forward to many more civil and useful comments
Hey Simon,
Referring back to your launch articles of the charcoal and the brown donegal, it says the charcoal cloth is 620g and the brown 800g.
I was therefore wondering if its still the same weight for both as I am planning some cut length…
Hey Andy,
They’re both a mid-weight now, 720g
Hi are you restocking the Dartmoor? Thanks
They’ve actually just gone back to Italy for a pressing issues, they’ll all be back soon
