London pop-up(s)! Details for the two events, plus New York and outerwear update

It’s taken us longer to get the London pop-up shop organised this year, largely because Savile Row and its environs are now increasingly filled up. But we finally have confirmation, and I can announce that we will be in our old space at 20 Savile Row from October 30 to November 2.
That’s a Wednesday to Saturday, as per usual, and our opening times will be the same as well: 11-7 on the weekdays, 10-6 on the Saturday.
We will also have our regular drinks event on the Wednesday, from 4pm. So please swing by if you would like a drink and a chat, or in fact would like a more relaxed atmosphere to browse the PS products.
And there are also drinks next week! As per usual, William Crabtree in Marylebone will have all our coats on display during the month of October (well, from the 3rd), leading up to our pop-up at the end of the month.
There’s always a tricky balance here: we want to do the pop-up when all Autumn stock has arrived, otherwise there will be some things people won’t get to try on. But we also know people are looking to buy many things right now, so they want to see them earlier. Hopefully this dual approach works well.
Also, for this time this year, myself and Lucas will be in William Crabtree for the first Thursday and Friday, to answer any questions in person. And on the Thursday, October 3, the Crabtree team will be serving drinks in the shop from 4pm. So in the same manner, swing by if you would like a chat and some casual feedback on Donegal sizing.
Finally, the New York dates remain the same as we announced earlier: October 16-19, in the J Mueser showroom at 14 Christopher St (Suite 1). It will be just us and Rubato this time.
So here’s a quick breakdown of the three shop events this Autumn, including what products will be on show:

- October 3 - October 29, opening times same as theirs
- Opening drinks October 3, from 5pm
- Simon and Lucas on site October 3 and 4
- 15 New Quebec Street

- Bridge Coat, Wax Walker (stocking next week), Grey Donegal, New Navy Donegal (launching next Friday), Brown Reversible Suede, very limited English Tweed (restocking in November). Not the new outerwear piece (slightly delayed)
- Rider’s Raincoat only available to try on at Drake’s, not in any pop-up
- All only available to try on, orders placed online
New York: Permanent Style and friends pop-up
- October 16 - October 19, opening 11-7
- Opening drinks October 16
- 14 Christopher St (Suite 1)
- Stock: Everything available at the time; some things missing that launch later
- MTO offer on Rifugio suede overshirts (pictured top)
- Also featuring: Rubato (not Taillour or Seiji McCarthy this time)
- PS only available to try on, orders placed online; Rubato available to buy
London: Permanent Style pop-up

- Opening drinks October 30
- 20 Savile Row
- Stock: Everything available at the time, which should be pretty much everything
- MTO offer on Rifugio suede overshirts
- All only available to try on, orders placed online
And here’s a round-up of product deliveries coming in the next week or two, to try and anticipate questions:
- Suede Overshirts restocking September 30
- Wax Walker restocking October 2
- Dark Navy Donegal launching October 4
- New outerwear project launching roughly two weeks later
- (Hip-length, waterproof, sportswear!)
- Nubuck Tote restocking next week (black and brown)
- Japanese Denim shirts (below) restocking in blue mid-October, black a month later
Exciting. Will the new navy Donegal have as heavy cloth as the existing grey?
It’s slightly lighter, but only slightly. I believe 680 rather than 720. I wouldn’t think there would be much functional difference
Speaking of restocks, any plans too restock the long sleeve navy merino anytime soon?
The Dartmoor? Those have gone back to Italy for a little fix, they should be back soon
Hi Simon – are you able to give colour details for the Dartmoor this year? Thanks in advance.
There are no new colours, it’s just the existing ones (navy, grey, cream) and it’s the same stock coming back
Exciting. Will there be a chance of selfies/an autograph?
Sure – we won’t have books on sale, but if anyone wants to bring in something to sign I’m happy to
Have the Rifugio overshirt colours been finalised Simon?
For the stock, it is just the existing one. For the MTO it will be navy, dark brown and beige. Images online when they launch in the pop-up
Thanks for the product update. Waterproof sportswear? Waiting to see if this is like the top Peter suggested!
Wait and see!
I think I can guess but I won’t spoil the surprise…. something where being good at knots might help.
I wouldn’t say that actually! But yes you’re right, no more speculation
Sorry Simon, apologies if I missed this in the note, but when can we expect details on the new outerwear? I am trying to decide if to get the Wax Walker or wait for the new item. Thank you!
There’s just a line in here describing roughly what it is, but there won’t be any more information until it launches, which will be two or three weeks from now
Hi Simon,
When can we expect to learn more details about the new outerwear project? Thanks!
Not until it launches in 3 weeks or so
You are such a tease!
just to clarify, opening drinks for NY pop-up is on the last day of the pop-up?
Damn it, no, first day. Thank you!
Will the indulgent Shawl be available to try on in NY?
The new stock won’t have arrived by then, but we’ll have the sizes that are available online still. Looking at the stock, that’s actually all sizes save XS
Can I confirm that the navy donegal will be available to try on at William Crabtree on 4th Oct? Thanks.
Yes it will be CM
Any dates on the cashmere rugby?
Not confirmed yet I’m afraid
What about the new Oxford colors?
Not coming yet. Hopefully November
Hi Simon,
Just out of interest, there’s an article in The Sunday Times Style Magazine today by Sean Monahan about ‘Normcore’. Worth a read and something you have i think touched on (but not by name) over the years, such as lack of logo’s on casual clothing and long term trend cycles.
Also a good while back Die Workwear had good article on Bookshop Core.
All the best
Thanks Stephen
Hi Simon,
Is the Grey Donegal light grey or the dark grey you launched in 2019?
Light grey – the dark grey is only available now as cloth
Thank you Simon. Will you have the dark grey Donegal this year?
No
Has the Rifugio suede overshirt replaced the Connolly one that used to be your favourite or do you find they perform different roles? I assume the Rifugio is lighter?
The Rifugio is much lighter, yes. I like both, but the Connolly is more unusual, given its weight and one-piece collar. Like a lot of the things on the PS Shop, the Rifugio overshirt is designed to be more versatile
Excited by the new outerwear project ! 😀 looking forward to it
Cheers Jean. Hope you like it
Hi Simon, making a rare appearance here but wanted to ask if the PS trench coat had been discontinued. I couldn’t find both the olive and navy coats in the PS shop. I want a waterproof coat that reached my shins as I have too many short coats that still leave me drenched from the waist down. Thanks
Sorry BB, yes it has been
Will you have your coat from your collaboration with Cromford leather at the Pop Ups?
Good question. We’ll bring in one or two of both the shearling DB and overshirt to the London pop-up, but we can’t bring them to New York unfortunately
What colour of the db shearling are you bring and what size?
is the original olive even still available?
I’ll have to check with them. They were often made to order so it’s a question of whether they have the skin still
Sorry, should have added- I called Cromford a couple weeks back and I rememeber they saying they have no more RTW sizes for both the brown and olive as apparently they have no more skins..
I see. I’ll talk to them just to confirm so I answer everyone’s questions, then come back to you as well
Hi Simon, for the New York pop-up, will you be open the full day, 11-7, on the last day of the 19th? I will be traveling in from another city and hope to make it in time.
Hey Edward,
Yes we will. Drop us a note on Instagram if you want just to let us know you’re coming, but we’ll be there until 7
Is shipping on PS shop items currently delayed given the pop up?
No, everything is as normal. Shipping is done by our fulfilment partner, not us thankfully
The only thing that is affected is that there is one piece in everything taken off the stock in order to be in the pop-up. But I don’t think there’s anything where there’s only that one available
Got it, thanks. I had just ordered an overcoat early this week and haven’t received a shipping notice yet, so was curious if the pop-up was going to cause a delay (I see it is currently sold out in the size I purchased).
Ah, I see. No that shouldn’t be an issue – but feel free to email the support team if you want an update next week
Hi – Any update on when the Dartmoor will be available to purchase? And what are the two colors? I remember an old post mentioned that they accidentally produced the wrong color (grey instead of charcoal, or something similar). Lastly, when will the new color of the Arran scarf be available? I saw it at the pop-up in NYC and loved it. Thanks so much!
Hey Colin,
We hope to have them back next week. The colours are navy and grey (rather than charcoal).
The scarf should be online at the end of next week as well.
Cheers
Looking forward to pop-up photos!
Hey Dan – no photos this time I’m afraid, as we didn’t do drinks and so on. Next time though definitely!
