The Rake, a new magazine launched from Singapore at the end of last year, fills many of the gaps in menswear journalism that I have bemoaned on several occasions – most specifically in the post No Magazines for Me.
Christian asked me for some feedback, so here it is.

Hi Chris – I don’t know much about the magazine’s distribution outside Hong Kong and Singapore, but I know the editor, Christian, reads this website so he can fill in the details.
If I hear elsewhere I will also post the information here

Which tailor is london is fast yet high standard?
Thanks for the tip Simon.
Yes, it sounds interesting, so I hope you comment on it from time to time.
I may have mentioned this before, but I think many people appreciate and would like to learn from other gentlemen. I hope they do wardrobe profiles on today’s well dressed business men. I don’t mean actors, or models, but some real life icons like Agnelli was at the time. They’re out there, and not just in the west.
AA and Esquire essentially followed this method.
Rapsak,
I’m afraid I don’t use a tailor in London for new items, only adjustments. However, one or two have been discussed on a site I contribute to, mensflair.com. Have a search there and you may find something useful.

Redundant question I know…but does anyone know of a resource in the States for this magazine?
Thanks.
This magazine sounds great. I’ll definitely have to see if I can check it out.
I’ve just started visiting your blog. I really like. I’ll definitely have to come back more.
Cheers!
I just bought the 2nd issue and The Rake is as good as it sounds.
For instance, this issue has informative articles on 7 fold ties, Charvet, Beluti, Valextra luggage, styling in the original Thomas Crown Affair, interview with CEO of Brioni, etc.
A 14 page article about tailoring trousers? Probably unheard of. And yes, the clothes are actually visible, and does not play to the photographer’s artistic fantasties.
This Singaporean magazine deserves to stand shoulders above most other international men’s magazine, and take its rightful place next to esteemed ones like Men’s EX.
Is The Rake available yet in the States?
Only by subscription and mail order. At the moment it is only distributed to newsstands in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Why in the world can’t I find a link to their site? One would think you would have linked to their site, but instead, you link to a picture of their site!
Thank you though, for sending me their way.
Oh jeez, there it is. In the last comment. Sorry.
